AtomSvet Lighting: Setting Trends

The LED industry in Russia is moving on, and national companies are keeping in pace with world leaders despite the fact that the industry of energy-saving technologies is still very young.

In 2013 AtomSvet announced the introduction of a new generation of industrial LED lighting. The principle of maximum reduction of optical losses was initially selected by AtomSvet as the most promising and now it is applied to the whole product line. The transition to optical systems combining the lens and safety glass enables optical losses to be significantly reduced and achieves high optical efficiency.


Integrated optics is not the only innovation in the lighting units. The company’s designers paid considerable attention to the power supply unit – traditionally the weak point of any LED unit. The improved heat removal system and easily replaceable power supply unit (driver) can significantly extend the already long service life of LED units. In addition, a number of AtomSvet developments allows the units to be individually assembled, depending on the customer’s needs, which makes units the most practical and flexible in meeting lighting requirements.

One of the anticipated innovations of the current year was AtomSvet’s launch of the Revolt industrial lighting. A high degree of protection (IP67) combined with resistance to adverse conditions enables the lighting to be used in different climatic zones. A modular principle ensures achievement of the required light flux and is adaptable to different customers’ requirements. In addition, if any breakdown occurs, it is easy to replace a defective element without disassembling the complete unit. The new radiator design provides the best heat removal.


In these units of the heat flows between the diode and ballast are separated and the design is modular which allows a unit with the required power and light flux to be assembled. The changes in the optical part of the module give us an opportunity to obtain different light intensity curves – from cosine to broad – and, as a consequence, provide illumination with different operating conditions. Using lens as the glass housing reduces light flux losses. The removable power supply unit can be easily replaced if necessary. The lighting unit is suitable for both 220 V and 48 V. Improved case designs contributed to the guaranteed high degree of protection from moisture and dust (IP 67).

The modern urban design of the lighting unit will not allow it to go unnoticed among alternatives for housing and communal utilities. The range of models (variation of energy consumption) provides the opportunity of choosing the unit which possesses the required characteristics. The case is made of aluminum, which allows it to operate as a radiator and remove the accumulated heat of the LEDs. Vandal-proof design in combination with a high degree of protection (IP65) and a wide range of operating temperatures (-40to+40oC) allow this lighting to be installed in both residential and non-residential buildings as well as at the industrial facilities.


Low-voltage explosion-proof lighting fixtures are built on the basis of the PLANT AtomSvet®, which has already proved itself in the market as a reliable product suitable for facilities with aggressive operating conditions. This innovation operates on a working range of input voltages from 12 V to 42 V. PLANT Ex LV is characterized by a significant operational lifetime, a small change in the light flux in the course of time, a broad range of light intensity curves, and reliable protection of the optics from pollution.

Innovations make up an integral part of AtomSvet’s company philosophy. The AtomSvet plant uses materials and components that are subject to inspections before delivering to the warehouse and when entering the production line. This is what ensure the quality of lighting systems manufactured under the AtomSvet trade mark. The quality is also confirmed by the laboratories of S. I. Vavilov All-Russian Research and Design Institute for Lighting Engineering (VNISI), as well as the Republic of Mordovia State Unitary Enterprise Lodygin Scientific Research Institute of Measuring Systems (NIIIS). AtomSvet production has also passed a series of audits and was certified according to the GAZPROMSERT system.
