Effective Energy Saving is Possible
The relevance of energy saving issues is increasing day by day. In everyday life people use energy, mostly obtained from the extraction and processing of oil, coal, gas and other resources of the Earth. Most of these resources are not renewable, and the ability to use them effectively is of concern to the scientists and economists of the leading countries. If today we do not start to use energy sources reasonably, then according to the predictions of experts we will run out of them in less than 100 years.
Given the current shortage of energy resources, the only way out of this situation is the development of new energy-saving technologies.

In Russia, the introduction of such programmes is particularly important, because in our country there is more than 1/3 of the world's reserves of coal and gas, and about 13% of total oil reserves. About 45% of current electricity consumption can be saved through the introduction of energy-saving technologies.

To modernize the lighting Norilsk Nickel has installed 163 AtomSvet® luminaires with 140 W rating and 6 AtomSvet® luminaires with 70 W rating.
Previously, the company used mercury lamp luminaires of 250 W and 400 W, but the light quality was poor: they had a constantly high luminous flux ripple and extremely low colour rendering index. Because the quality indicators and lighting levels of previously installed luminaires did not conform to the appropriate norms, Norilsk Nickel’s design engineers took great care in selecting the LED luminaires from several well-known Russian and European brands.
The main selection criteria were the high luminous flux figures. The luminaire size and design was also taken into account.
After comparing different brands of LED equipment, OJSC MMC Norilsk Nickel’s specialists chose AtomSvet lighting.
The use of this equipment has greatly reduced the power consumption of the warehouse complex.
